Company History

    In 1979, our founder, Landon Crigler, began career in Real Estate. He was Rookie of the year in a 63 person office. In 1981 he founded his own company, Barland Real Estate. This same company has operated successfully as a family owned business for 24 years. The name was changed to Crigler Brothers Real Estate in 1993.

    Mr. Crigler leased space to a Mortgage Corporation in 1991 and subsequently helped the owner develop templates to simplify his mortgage operation. The owner of the mortgage company later developed health problems and decided to leave the mortgage business. In gratitude for the help Mr. Crigler provided, he helped Mr. Crigler get started in the mortgage business. The first lender Mr. Crigler worked with was Troy and Nichols out of Monroe, Louisiana. Chase Manhattan soon bought Troy and Nichols and thus began a long and prosperous relationship between HHP Mortgage and Chase. The Company does business with Chase in Alabama, Florida and Colorado at present.

    In 2003, Mr. Crigler decided to franchise his operation. The first franchise office (a two person operation at that time) recouped their franchise fee in the first quarter of business of their new Mortgage Brokerage. HHP mortgage has since helped them grow in Originators and Agents.

    Over the years Mr. Crigler has refined the templates that he developed to help his friend. They are now fully functioning web based pricing templates. The VA templates even include the ever changing tax tables for VA residual income calculation. There is nothing in the market place exactly like them.

    Other systems have been developed such as an exclusive seminar system design to recruit originators for his franchisees. The Mortgage University, which trains originators for franchisees, was created by Mr. Crigler.

    The franchise business that he developed was built on solid moral principles. He believes that only way to do business is the "right way," putting principles ahead of profit, but still operating profitably and ethically. He is looking for people with the same goals.
